Interpol concluded a global training program that equipped investigators from 60 national cyber units with advanced cryptocurrency tracing techniques used in ransomware and fraud investigations.

The curriculum covered blockchain analytics, mixer de-anonymization strategies, exchange cooperation procedures and the legal frameworks for cross-border asset seizure.

Interpol officials said the skills gap between criminal money-laundering techniques and investigative capabilities remains one of the biggest obstacles to recovering stolen funds, particularly in developing economies.

Graduates of the program contributed to several recent operations, including the freezing of wallets tied to a major ransomware cartel and the recovery of funds from an international romance-scam ring.
